CATHERINE ANDERSEN STUDIO
Glass Artist & Designer
Cathy has been working with glass since she was quite young and developed her talent while creating and repairing stained glass on a a professional scale. Arriving on Vancouver Island, she found herself surrounded by wildlife and beauty and decided to shift to fused glass to capture the depth, warmth and motion of her surroundings.
Artist Statement: "The inspiration for my work is drawn from the world around me; the people in my life, and my personal exploration of the wildlife and nature of Vancouver Island. Exploring the intimacy and sanctuary with nature and our world is a true pleasure, and I hope I have caught this message in my artwork"

An active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since 2003, Gail's work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions as well as solo shows in British Columbia and Alberta, and can be found in private collections throughout North America.

Judith believes her paintings absorbs, then transports the viewer for moments in time to forget everyday worries and concerns in our busy lives. Judith is a member of the Canadian Federation of Artists.
BARBARA J. WALLACE WEBSITE
Barb spent many years in the Rocky Mountains and the Coast Mountains, working in the ski industry and for Parks Canada. Much of her inspiration comes from her experiences in these sublime places. Now living on central Vancouver Island, she paints in her Cedar-by-the-Sea studio. Comfortable working in acrylic, watercolour or oil, Barb conveys a personal uniqueness of vision.

Ólöf Pétursdóttir was born and raised in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. Through the years Ólöf has experimented with a variety of different art mediums and has a large following in her native Iceland. Ólöf and her husband now live in the city of Nanaimo she continues to work with palette knives in different sizes, mainly in oil but also in acrylic. Her paintings are strong, colorful and full of life.
Bonnie Ann Stebbings
Bonnie devotes her time to her passion, painting, and took advantage of the numerous opportunities to study with some of the many fine artists who have made Vancouver Island their home. She is currently working towards her Diploma of Visual Arts, and has been expanding her portfolio with many fine works in watercolour and in oils.

Judy was born on Vancouver Island and loves to find humour in all things. Judy took up painting in 1999, and started sculpting with clay in 2004. Her latest works are mixed media abstract and her sculptures are ideal for indoor and outdoor display.

Since the moment Lynn held her first crayon, art has been her passion and colour her obsession. When she paints, distant memories come alive and colours come together as they do in her dreams. She has never been happier, and gets truly excited with each new blank canvas.
Studio 7- Silversmithing Studio

• Basic Silversmithing
• Advanced and Specialty Classes
• 1 to 2 day Workshops.
Small class sizes means lots of individual attention in a fun and creative environment. All hand and studio tools and materials are included in the class price. No experience necessary for many of the classes! Tools, Stones, Metals, and Supplies will also be available for sale to Studio students.

Open Studio: The Studio will be open one evening per week for non-instructed time. Don't have your own silversmithing workspace or just like to work with others? Drop in to the Open Studio and work on your own jewelery pieces in our inviting space.
Artists' Studios
Gallery 223 has converted a large portion of its second floor to house 7 mini galleries which have been rented by local artists. These mini galleries showcase the works of some 18 local artists and one photographer, This portion of Gallery 223 will be known as The Galleries at Gallery 223. This is in addition to the art in Gallery 223 on the main floor.
As a result, Gallery 223 at 223 Commercial Street will become a destination for art buyers to view an incredibly wide selection of art by both local and international artists. This development will further enhance downtown Nanaimo's ongoing rejuvenation and its growing arts and culture scene.
